Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and PressNote governing your use of the PressNote app for iPad and Mac (the "App"). By downloading, installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

See our Privacy Policy for how the App handles information — it is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Subject to these Terms and Apple's Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the App on any Apple-branded device you own or control, for your personal or professional use.

You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, rent, lease, resell, or create derivative works from the App, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits this despite the restriction.

PressNote is free to download. Full access requires either an active Monthly or Yearly subscription, or a one-time Lifetime purchase. Prices are set in the App Store and shown to you before you buy — they vary by country and currency and may change over time; any price increase to an active subscription is presented to you for acceptance before it takes effect, as Apple requires.

Monthly and Yearly subscriptions include a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription begins and payment is charged to your Apple ID. Anyone who purchased PressNote outright before it moved to this model keeps full access to the App at no additional charge, on the Apple ID or App Store account used for that purchase.

The Lifetime purchase is a one-time, non-consumable purchase covering the App on every device signed in to the Apple ID that made the purchase. It carries no free trial and does not renew or expire.

Subscriptions are billed and auto-renew through your Apple ID, at the price and interval you selected, until you cancel. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase and again at the start of each new period, generally within 24 hours before the current period ends.

You can manage or cancel a subscription any time in PressNote's Settings ▸ Subscription screen, or directly in your device's Apple ID subscription settings — cancelling stops future renewals but does not end a period you have already paid for, and does not delete anything you have recorded. PressNote itself has no access to your billing details and cannot cancel or refund a purchase on your behalf.

All purchases are billed by Apple, and refund requests are handled by Apple under its own policies, not by PressNote — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com or through the App Store. We are not able to issue refunds directly.

You retain all rights to the recordings, transcripts, translations, notes and drafts you create in PressNote ("Your Content"). We do not claim any ownership over Your Content, and — as described in our Privacy Policy — it is processed and stored on your device; we do not access it as part of normal use.

You are solely responsible for Your Content and for your right to record, transcribe and publish it, including obtaining any consent required by law where you record.

You agree not to use the App to violate any law, infringe anyone's rights, or record someone without the consent required in your jurisdiction. You agree not to attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the App or the services it connects to.

If you connect a blog (WordPress, Ghost, or a Micropub-compatible service), publishing to it is governed by that service's own terms, and your relationship with it is between you and them. PressNote is not responsible for the availability, content or policies of any third-party service you connect.

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. On-device transcription, translation and AI-generated drafts can contain errors — always review generated content before you rely on, publish, or act on it.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PressNote will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue or goodwill, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the claim arose.

You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and PressNote only, not Apple, and that Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support for the App. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, and has no obligation to address any claims relating to it — including product-liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to any legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising from consumer-protection or similar legislation.

Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement or discharge of any third-party claim that the App, or your possession and use of it, infringes a third party's intellectual-property rights. You agree to comply with any applicable third-party agreement terms when using the App. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

You may stop using the App and delete it at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership of Your Content, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will survive.

These Terms are governed by the law applicable to the agreement between you and us, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, except where the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your own country of residence give you rights that cannot be limited by contract — those rights remain unaffected. We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and material changes will be communicated within the App or on this page. Continuing to use the App after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
